The Agricolites – Espresso Funk / Bakutsi Barista (7″) [Black Buffalo Records 2019]

Legendary longtime Halifax mainstay producer and part time coffee drinker Jorun Bombay has assembled local musicians from his surrounding neighborhood to form the live, in house, funk outfit called “The Agricolites”.

Three years in the making, Jorun gathered musicians into Cafe Cempoal De Calavera Negra on Agricola St in Halifax, Nova Scotia and recorded percussion pieces, heavy bass lines and funky guitar licks to the musical soundscapes laid down by cafe owner and part time percussionist Chis Cookson.
